Create Your Own: Organic Greek Seasoning

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

A seasoning blend packed full of flavor and free of all the things you don't want....

I started making my own organic spice blends because I could NOT find organic spice blends in stores, and I couldn't find them without excessive amounts of salt, chemicals, man-made flavor enhancers, and preservatives. So I decided to make my own organic spice blends!

I give you, Organic Greek Seasoning

You can now have the Greek flavors you love without questionable ingredients you can't pronounce.

Greek seasoning is so versatile. Of course you can season chicken, beef, lamb, or fish; I have even used this in my Quinoa Bowls after I was inspired by a trip to Zoe's Kitchen and wished that they had organic options!! But I have had quite the time finding it already assembled in grocery stores and without additives. Which is what prompted me to make my own, it's super easy to make and I store it in an air tight container for weeks, if it lasts that long because I use it so often.

INGREDIENTS

2 TBSP ORGANIC OREGANO 2 TSP ORGANIC GARLIC POWDER 2 TSP ORGANIC BASIL

1 TSP ORGANIC ONION POWDER 1 TSP ORGANIC PAPRIKA 1 TSP ORGANIC PARSLEY 1/2 TSP ORGANIC THYME 1/4 TSP ORGANIC NUTMEG* 1/4 TSP ORGANIC CINNAMON*

*Keep in mind Nutmeg and Cinnamon are strong flavors so be sure to only add 1/8 of a Tsp, to 1/4 Tsp of each so they don't overpower your blend, if you choose to add them.

This is also a spice blend I use frequently when I am meal-prepping since it is so tasty and goes with so many sides and grains. I can cook up 5 lbs of chicken or steak and grill it and portion out enough to use in a dish and still have plenty to freeze for later use when I don't feel like cooking or the day got away from me.
