Organic Yogurt Bowl

Updated: Apr 13, 2020

Get more bang for your buck at breakfast. Healthy, organic and full of fuel to take on the day.

Yogurt, fruit, and granola, repeat, can get kind of boring right? I am always looking for ways to increase vitamins, nutrients, and fiber, and recently I have LOVED these items I started adding to my morning yogurt bowl.

Building the bowl. Options are many, however we have to start with the basics: Organic yogurt, fruits and nuts/seeds. Here are my favorite options:

Assembling your masterpiece

So with a lactose sensitivity I am always looking for non-dairy yogurts that actually taste like yogurt and still have healthy gut benefits like probiotics. So Delicious brand of Coconut Yogurt has become my absolute favorite to use, not just because they are organic and non-dairy, but ALL the flavors taste good! There is not a disappointing one in the refrigerated section of the grocery store and I STOCK UP on these!

I always add fresh organic fruit not just for the fiber but to fill me up as well, just the yogurt and granola doesn't do it for me, and I am always looking for a way to add fruit because I do not eat enough fruit- ever.

So where I have begun changing it up is with Flax, Chia, and Hemp hearts:

~Ground Organic Flaxseed is packed with Omega 3, 6, and 9 Fatty Acids, Lignans, Fiber, and it is low carb, how awesome is that?!

~Organic Chia seeds are high in protein, very high in fiber, in fact they have as many grams of fiber as they do carbs which makes them "carb neutral" since fiber counter-balances carbs! uh-maz-ing

~ Organic Hemp Hearts are another great source of protein, and 3 & 6 Omegas, they are also carb neutral, and they are packed with vitamins and minerals our bodies need, like Calcium, Potassium, Phosphorus, and Magnesium.

Organic ground flaxseed, Chia, and Hemp hearts have been a wonderful addition to my morning yogurt bowl and overall health and wellness. I encourage you to check them out the next time you are grocery shopping.
