Did you grow up on snack foods? I know I did. I love a party mix! I love having things to snack on when I need a little something to get me through till dinner.
But with the rising concerns around what is in our food, what our shelf foods are made up of, preservatives, and ingredients we cannot pronounce, and the like, I don't want to worry about what is in my family's food! So I'm making EVERYTHING organic!
And today it happens to be Chex Party Mix
Ingredients:
1 Box of Organic Wheat Cereal (Whole Foods)
1 Bag of Organic Pretzel braids (Whole Foods)
1/2 Lb Organic Pecans (Whole Foods)
1/2 Lb Organic Peanuts (Whole Foods)
1 Stick Organic melted butter (Harris Teeter)
1/3 Cup Organic Worcestershire Sauce (Harris Teeter)
2 TSP Organic Garlic Powder (Aldi)
1 TSP Organic Onion Powder (Harris Teeter)
1/2 TSP Organic Paprika (Whole Foods)
1/2 TSP Organic Pink Himalayan Sea Salt (IDK)
Open and dump box of cereal, bag of pretzels, pecans, and peanuts in a large bowl(preferably with a lid).
In a glass bowl, melt your stick of butter in the microwave (slowly), then add in your 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 TSP of Garlic Powder, 1 TSP of Onion Powder, 1/2 TSP of Paprika, and 1/2 TSP of Salt. Mix together in your melted butter, and pour over your dry items in the large bowl.
If you have a lid, put the lid on and shake until everything is incorporated. If you don't have a lid, no worries, just use a large spoon and mix everything thoroughly.
Lay it out into a pan, and distribute evenly.
Place in a 250 degree oven for 15 minutes, take it out and stir, place back in the oven for 15 more minutes, then repeat, and repeat again for a total of 4 15 minute increments.
Let cool, serve or place in a air tight container so it will say fresh, and Enjoy!
